Doing our bit...
Vestguard founder Shaun Ward 2000-2011 had a strong belief of giving and helping others, each year donating profits of VestGuard to various charities and good causes, as well as personally contributing 50% of his salary each year. Shaun encouraged staff to take two voluntary days off work each year to work in the community, staff would receive full pay, so long as they helped somebody in need, whether that be a neighbour, or a charitable organization. VestGuard UK predominantly recognised for their innovative ballistic solutions, have supported many charitable organisations in their time. From international charities such as the Afghan War Widows project which was originally setup by Shaun when he was working in Afghanistan, and the HALO project with donations of demining equipment. VestGuard UK have also supported the more local charities that have personally touched members of the Vestguard team.
VestGuard are still striving to do as much as they can for charities and have announced that they are offering their entire security earpiece range as a way to generate an income stream to support charitable giving, for every earpiece sold, VestGuard will donate £1 to The Worshipful Company of Security Professionals, to support their remarkable efforts to raise funds for charity. Oliver Lincoln, Commercial Director at VestGuard UK said; “As a member of the WCOSP myself, I see firsthand the good work that they do and charities supported. Close to VestGuard’s defence and security sectors, WCOSP supports education with donations to the Harrow Air Cadets and to the Bexley Business Academy Army and Police Cadet schemes. On top of this, the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals support charities close to London, including the Magical Taxi Tour”.
One of London’s most unique charity events takes place when a convoy of licensed London taxis take over 200 children, suffering from a range of chronic debilitating illnesses and life limiting conditions, on a three-day trip of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris.
“As a firm, I am intent on supporting the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals with their well chosen charities and foundations. By giving up a £1 of our profit on the sale of each earpiece, I hope that we too can make a difference to those who continue to benefit from the giving of the
WCOSP.”
