Every body armour manufacturer or supplier should be able to provide a copy of their product liability insurance. This ensures that in the event the armour fails and causes serious injury that a claim can be made. It is important to ensure the insurance covers "body armour", as PPE can just mean a baseball cap or high visibility jacket and not mean body armour.
Product liability insurance to the value of five million pounds. Insurance cover should be world wide and should include Professionally indemnity Insurance one million pounds so that any advice giving is also covered.
VestGuard UK has performed test purchases and found that nearly all UK companies selling Body Armour on the Internet did not even have basic insurance cover. If you have any concerns at all ask to see their insurance cover no company should have a problem with this. If they do walk away do not buy, also all body armour in the UK needs to be CE marked no excuses.
